About Me

I'm Amy!
A twenty-something university grad just trekking my way into the official real world, figuring it all out as I go along!

I have a job I love and finally understand those people that say they're focussed on their career. I work with Native youth and feel incredibly fortunate to have such a rewarding job. I count my blessings everyday. My work has me flying across the country a lot, so if my last post was from a few weeks ago, it's safe to assume I'm off on a business trip.

I grew up in a small town in Ontario, Canada surrounded by beautiful lakes and family. When I headed off to university I chose a school in the Nation's Capital: Ottawa...and I fell in love. It's a beautiful city and now the place I call home sevenish years later. I would much prefer to be back home in the small town surrounded by my family and the beautiful scenery, but unfortunately the opportunities don't shine as bright. So I live in Ottawa now and call it home. I have always dreamed of one day returning back home to raise a family.

I'm a spiritual individual that believes that everything happens for a reason, but we also create our own destiny. If you want something, visualize it, keep positive and never give up! I've been through my fair share of hardships in my lifetime and the only thing that gets me to the other side is keeping positive (that and the love and support of the best friends and family anyone could ask for!).

I do my best to keep active and eat cleanly. Weight has always been a struggle for me, and from time to time  (it used to be the focus around here) I'll provide updates on how my journey to a goal weight is going. The real goal is to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and that is something I've achieved and am continuing to do. I feel better when I eat well and exercise consistently; however I think making it my whole focus generally sets myself up for failure, so instead I just practice a healthy lifestyle trusting my body will take me to my goal weight.

I'm also a bit of a crazy cat lady... it doesn't help that I'm single (something I'm happy about for now), but how can you not have daily kitty cuteness explosions (when I'm home) with a cuddly cute face like the one below? Vada is my 3 year old furbaby and is pretty much my child. My day is always brightened with pictures of cute kitties and kitty belly rubs. I'm pretty much the girl from the eHarmony cat video, just not fake (even though it is a perfectly plausible video).

Yes she's named after My Girl

So...welcome! I'm happy to have you following along on my journey in my corner of the interwebs!

I'm so sorry to read this story, but you do such a great job reflecting, understanding, conveying it all - I think you're already well on your way to tackling this because you know what you need to do and what your challenges are. Glad to have found you through 20sb and plan to go down this journey with you! - Ali @ http://www.luckiestgirlever.com
