Why do I love my job?
It seems most people wake up everyday and just do. They get up and do. Do what they have to.
It wasn't long ago that I was one of those people. And then? I jumped in, let go and just lived.
My job transformed and now? I love it.
I am making a difference everyday. I am playing my part on behalf of the children.
I am advocating for the Native Youth of my country.
I am working towards a better future for them. Every day.
My small contributions working 40-90 hours a week is my piece.
I go to sleep at night happy that my life has a purpose and that I know I am doing the right thing.
This is why I am happy. Giving is happiness to me. I want to share. I would much rather give than receive. I receive so much joy from giving to others.
So I realize and thank the universe every day for how fortunate I am to be paid and make a living giving.
But, that being said... that doesn't mean we can't get that joy of giving and making a difference from our everyday lives after work. We all find satisfaction in our jobs for our own reasons, we like to create, we like to help, we like to cook, we like to serve, we like to research, we like to heal. We all like different things.
But I think there is one thing we all get joy from...and that is giving and seeing a smile on the other side. To know that the effort we put forth made a difference in someone's life, even if it was smiling for a split second.
We all love that feeling.
So when people like Jason Russell (who is pretty much my dream man by the by) come around and start something, we jump on and help as much as we can.
We spend 30 minutes taking back our world and changing it.
We take 2 minutes after to click some buttons and share.
We take a few dollars (as much as we can afford) and we give back.
Why?
Because it feels good and because it's going to make a difference.
So watch and join the movement.
Give and receive smiles in return. Receive change.

love how everyone is posting about this- amazing. i'll be posting it too. wonderful!
I am 100% for stopping Kony and joining! But what I can't stand is when people start treating this like it's a contest: "I've known about this for so long.." "that guy is commercializing everything.." I just wan to say, so what if he is?! Ya know? At least he's informing people like me, I was unaware, but now I know and I want to be involved! KONY2012
@anon - totally! It doesn't have to be a contest. I'll admit I knew nothing. My best friend has been involved with Invisible Children for 4 years and I still didn't. But stuff like this just empowers us all to bring on change together :)
